Mother Nature can be a trickster, and not always in a way that is kind to your property! Even quarter sized hail can bruise and crack shingles and siding, dent gutters, turtle or turbine vents and other metal fascia.

Storm damage caused inside and outside damage. We chose this company because it provided all restoration services. The contractors were on time, honest, efficient and left the premises in pristine condition. I would retain this company again in a heartbeat.
Wind greater than 50 to 60 miles per hour can lift and crease brand new shingles, resulting in immediate or future loss of that shingle. If your shingles are older, the wind speeds needed to cause damage can be considerably less.
Damage isn’t always easy to determine, even if you climb onto your own roof, if you aren’t sure what to look for. Obviously, if a shingle is completely torn away, you may be able to see that from ground level.
Creased tabs from wind damage usually requires an expert inspection to detect. Lexington Blue is owned and operated by a HAAG certified inspector. Everyone of our roof inspectors undergoes extensive and ongoing training.
Wind damage creases and lifts shingle tabs, breaking the seal and causes leaks to occur. After the wind event, the shingle may return to its original position, and look fine from the ground. But, over time, and with repeated wind, the shingle will tear away from the roof.
Following a major storm event that included high wind and/or hail, a wise homeowner has a professional inspection to ensure that the roof, a home’s first line of protection, is fully intact and fully functional and that no warranties have been voided.
Hail damage causes bruising to shingles. Not such a terrible thing initially, but over time the granules on your shingle will loosen and rinse away in rain. This exposes the matting to ultraviolet light from sun exposure and deteriorates the shingle.
You will begin to notice granules accumulating in your gutters. The shingle may also crack over time from the initial hail impact. Eventually, the shingle will lose integrity, and will no longer be protecting your roof, and leaking will begin to be evident in the interior of your home.
Again, evidence of this will be interior leakage, insulation and drywall damage. Don’t let this happen to you! Call Lexington Blue 859.368.6346 and ask us to professionally inspect your most valuable investment, your home.
If damage is found, we’ll document it, help you get a claim going with your insurance carrier, present the information to your adjuster and perform the work for the exact dollar amount awarded. The only expense you’ll pay is your deductible. That’s it!
